PROVERB PRACTICALS

Proverbs 5:6,  Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.

Perhaps the son thinks that a sampling of the strange woman will satisfy his appetite.

Perhaps a small departure from the path of life for a little excitement and then a return to the path of life.

This wise father anticipates this thought.

For he knows that the strange woman has a varied menu to use in devouring her victims.

her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.

She knows what move to make to keep you from returning to the path of life in any situation.

Her moves are designed to entangle her lover.

She has myriad’s of snares and traps to keep her victims to her.

Her words are designed to meet the need of those entrapped to her.

As she plies her wares the path of life gets dim and cannot be clearly seen.

The pleasures of sin are of such variety to continually entice one to stay and enjoy just one more night of sin.

The voice of conscience grows faint and soon has no influence.

Proverbs 5:6,  Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.

The strange woman will allow no time for serious thoughts, thoughts that tend to the path of life.

All of those thoughts are banished in her presence for her ways are moveable.

She will allow no intrusion into her wiles for she intends complete corruption.

This father intends for his son to know that the strange woman has a varied menu to use in consuming her victims.

her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.

She knows what move to make to keep you from pondering the path of life in any situation.

This is not only the adulterous woman that is being described but this adulterous woman is also the world system of the devil that is being described.

Try to initiate a serious discussion in any area of life and the world system is designed to cut you off.

So many diversions, so many ways of suffocating truth.

So many circuses to keep you entertained and away from that which is eternal.

The God of this world is temporal-ness, not eternal-ness.

Get all the gusto out of this life for this is the only life there is.

It does not get any better than this, the world cries.

That is the wile of sin, that is the framework or strategy of sin, a denial of that which is eternal and a worship of that which is temporal.

But Paul revealed to us the truth as he wrote in:

II Corinthians 4:18,  While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Build up all that a man can see so that his eyes are always engaged in the temporal and he will have no eyes left to see the eternal.

This is the lust of the eye.

For: her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.

This is an absolute that the father proclaims.

Thou canst not know them.

The strange woman and the world always have some new thing designed to corrupt.

So the father proclaims that the only defense is separation from the strange woman, separation from the world and allegiance to his word.

Ephesians 5: 11,  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
