PROVERB PRACTICALS

Proverbs 5:7,8,  Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

God’s protection is God’s word.

The father’s protection is the father’s word.

That is as far as God goes.

That is as far as the father can go.

A father words provide treasures for the heart.

A father gives burdens of words for the son to carry him thru-out life.

But that is as far as he can go.

To yield to temptation is to put ourselves out of God’s protection.

God will not, the father cannot continually force us to stay away from the door of the strange woman.

God will not restrain us from sin but he will provide us with his word which is his protection.

This is the pattern for a father with his son.

The father’s words to "Flee youthful lusts" is the provided protection.

To disregard the word is to put ourselves outside the fence of God’s safekeeping.

So this father says Hear, he says Hear again and again.

My words are there to provide safety for you.

Depart not from the words of my mouth.

Separation is the key.

Teach this in the home to the little ones.

Teach them that separation is a real defense against the world, the flesh and the devil.

Flee youthful lusts is separation, resist the devil and he will flee from you is separation, love not the world is separation.

Do not touch the stove is separation. Do not even go near the stove.

Do not put your hand above the burner of the stove to feel the heat rising.

Stay in the yard is separation, don’t go in the flower bed is separation.

Teach the great value of separation early on.

So as the son reaches an age where the strange woman beckons, the father continues to teach separation.

Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house.

As the former drunkard crosses the street as he passes a bar, so as not to come close to temptation, neither should the son even dare to come near the strange woman’s door.

The message is, if you play with fire you will get burned.

Hearken to my word. Let my understanding be your understanding.

Depart not from the words of my mouth.

See here how the words of the father’s mouth are to be that which calls for allegiance.

See how the words are to be the boundaries of the son as he travels the path of life.

Going to the door of the strange woman is to depart from the words of the father’s mouth.

See how words are so important to the keeping of the son on the path of life?

First no departure from the father’s word, and then it will be no departure from God’s word.

The father’s word is simply to be used as a vehicle to transport the son to God’s word wherein lies safety, for safety is of the Lord.

Depart not from the words of my mouth.
