PROVERB PRACTICALS

Proverbs 31:22,  She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

This woman does not neglect her appearance.

Her clothing is silk most likely means that her clothing is of fine linen, dyed purple.

She has earned this finery by her hard work and management.

Let all things be done decently and in order and this verse follows the order of things.

She reaches forth her hands to the poor and gives of her substance.

She sees to it that her family is taken care of with the right clothes and she has enough remaining to cloth herself in that which is suitable to her station in life.

You see:  Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

She will take part in public ceremony and her dress must be suitable to the occasion.

She sees to it that her dress enhances her husband's station and does not take away from his station.

She knows that her testimony will bring to her husband great respect and she knows that her appearance is part of her testimony.

It is as if she were a crown to her husband.

Her husband is known in the gates and much of that knowledge of her husband can be credited to this woman of virtue.

She is his crown!
